Our churches are re-opening
But in a limited fashion !! At St John's we will have a service every Sunday from the 12th of July at 10:00 am, and the services at St Catherine's will begin again on July 19th with a 3:00 pm service. This would normally be Evensong but for now it will be without the song. We will continue to broadcast a service online via our Facebook page until such time as all restrictions are lifted by the government.
In both churches the seating will be marked in order to keep our social distancing, you will be asked to use the hand sanitiser at the door and to refrain from touching surfaces as much as possible. At St John's the service will be on the overhead screen so that we avoid using books or service sheets, and at St Catherine's you are asked to bring your own Prayer Book each week. If you don't have a Prayer Book, you'll be given one with a sticky label so that you can use the same one for each service.
You will be asked to record your attendance and provide a phone number on a simple list, which will be kept for 21 days for the purpose of Track and Trace in the unlikely event of a fresh outbreak of Corona Virus involving another church-goer.
At Communion services in both churches, only the priest will take the wine, and precautions will be taken to avoid contact or closeness with each other, though you will all be invited to receive the bread or wafer.
We look forward to your cooperation in all of these precautions, and most of all we look forward to seeing you all again. If you have been following our services online, why not come and participate in the real thing at one of our churches?
As before, if you have any concerns or pastoral issues, do get in touch with the vicar on 01225 783119."
Many thanks and every blessing,
