Batheaston Churches

The Parish of Batheaston with St Catherine has joined with Bathford Parish in a United Benefice. Rev Lauretta Wilson is Vicar of the Benfice

Our local churches provide a place of welcome for all local residents and visitors alike.  On our web pages, you can find out more about our village churches, service times, special events and what we, as a community of Christians are doing in the area. As a close-knit community, we offer people of all ages a place of tranquility, inspiration and connection.  Why not get involved and come and see us soon?

History (2 of 2)

St John's church is a real "village" church in the sense that it is fully involved in the life of Batheaston.

As well as providing regular services and the pastoral offices of baptism, weddings and funerals, we offer a Carol Service and a Memorial Service which draw all sections of the community together.

The church is surrounded by a large and ancient burial ground, now closed to full burials. This is maintained by the local authority, Bath & North East Somerset Council for which we are most grateful.

So does the annual village fête, which is also organised by the church.

There is a tradition of service by the church to the village, and institutions such as the Youth Club and the Coffee Shop were begun and are largely continued by church personnel.
